Aurier saves Doumbia from swallowing his tongue

Cote d’Ivoire defender Serge Aurier saved Mali’s Moussa Doumbia from swallowing his tongue in their Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier at Abidjan.

Doumbia collided with another Ivorian defender when contesting for a ball in the Elephnats 18-yard-box as the Rostov player was left unconscious before the Paris Saint Germain defender waved in to save the situation before the arrival of the medics.

The 23-year-old was also criticized for his controversial celebration after making a throat-slitting gesture in the same match against the Malians in the World Cup qualifiers.

Aurier has always been in the news for the wrong reasons except for his live saving incident recently. In September 2016, he was sentenced to two months imprisonment for assaulting a police officer in France.

In the 2015/16 season, the Ivorian right-back got himself into trouble for making derogatory homophobic comments on social media.
The former Tolouse defender verbally attacked ex-PSG boss Laurent Blanc and other teammates including current Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and was suspended by the club for five weeks.
